What can a Smart Meter detect?

  • Leak – water is being used every minute for 24 consecutive hours.
  • Intermittent leak – water is being used at a high flow for hours at a time.
  • High Usage – a high daily consumption of water is evident (this can be customized to your specific usage; default is 1,000 gallons per day).
  • Minimum temperature – notification when a minimum temperature is reached for the air temperature inside the pit or basement.
  • Unexpected Usage – notification of water usage during a period of time set by the customer (snowbird, vacation, etc.).
  • Threshold Leak – water is being used constantly above 0.25 gallons per minute.

 

What are some useful features of the online portal?

  • Dashboard (summary page) Shows the last 24 hours of water that has gone through your meter; hover your mouse over the data points to see the results.
  • Consumption History – can view usage for a day, week or month. Click on drop down window for time interval to switch to a different period of data. Export feature will send the data to a CSV file and will show each minute of the day and the water that went through the meter each minute. Flow Rate (first chart) shows gallons per minute. Consumption chart (second chart) shows gallons per hour or day.
  • Notifications – allows you to select what you want to be notified of, such as using over the user-defined amount of water for the day, minimum temperature of the air inside the pit (or basement if the meter is installed in your basement). You can select notifications to be sent to as an email message or text message or both.

 

Is there any additional cost per month for having a smart meter?

No. LSRWS has upgraded to these new smart meters with no additional monthly fees or installation fees to have a smart meter.

How do I get logged in initially?

  • When a new meter was installed, a postcard was left on your door handle. This postcard listed instructions on how to get logged in (VN ID and Account ID were listed).
  • If you don’t have the postcard or would like assistance, please contact the office and we can help you get logged in.

 

I have multiple accounts. Can I see all my accounts using one single login?

Yes. If you have two or more accounts with LSRWS, we can set all your accounts up in one group which will allow you to view all your accounts using one single login. Please call the office and we will get this set up for you.

 

What if I have multiple accounts and I am not seeing them all?

Please call the office and we will get the account that is missing added to your group so you can view all your accounts using a single login.

 

Is there a mobile app?

Yes. WaterScope 2.0 mobile app for Apple or Android phone is available. Your login credentials for the mobile app will be the same as for the web portal.
